In Nepal, there are 3 distinct seasons:
- The winter season from October to February
- The summer season from March to May
- The monsoon period from June to September
The season has its importance on the various treks offered. Note that spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to trek.
In the Annapurna and Langtang regions, for example, you can cross forests of flowering rhododendrons.
In general, the monsoon period is not a good time to trek due to hot temperatures and rains, and therefore poor visibility on the peaks, except for the northern region of the Dhaulagiri where you can enjoy magnificent viewpoints.
As temperatures are very low and snow is frequent in winter, it is not recommended to trek during the months of December and January.
