Day 10: Gorakshep – Kala Patthar (5545m / 11283 ft.) then trek back to Pheriche (4210m / 13810 ft) – 7 hrs.
Day 11: Pheriche to Namche (3440 m / 11283 ft.) – 7 hrs
Day 12: Namche to Lukla (2800 m / 9184 ft.) – 7 hrs.
Day 13: Fly back from Lukla waving to the EBC Trail.
Day 14: End of Everest Base Camp Trek (Farewell).
Welcome to the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu is known as the city of temples. Our representatives will greet and warmly receive you at the airport. After he/she welcomes you, they will then support you with the transportation to transfer your booked hotel in Kathmandu.
After you reach at your hotel then you can take rest or you can be fresh. You will have nothing planned for the day, but you can go shopping in Thamel if you have some personal gears to buy. You will spend a night in a hotel.
After your breakfast, our guide will pick you up for an exciting flight to Lukla. The flight to Lukla is itself a rare adventure which will chill your bone. The Tenzing Hillary Airport is itself one of the most extreme high altitude airport in the world. Immediately after you leave Kathmandu, you will be greeted by the green hills and the surrounding mountains which is worth to watch. The landing to a narrow lane, in the base of the mountains will surely skip your heart a bit.
After a wonderful and thrilling flight, you will start your trek. You will meet your porters at the airport to carry most of your goods. The tour guide will make your way along the busy street to the start of the trek down to Phakding. You will walk through alpine forest and Dudh Koshi River with breathtaking sounds of nature. You have to cross the suspension bridge to reach Phakding and walking above the swinging bridge will add a thrill to your journey. Then, head to a local teahouse where you will spend your night in the best guest house.
After completing the breakfast, you will start to make your way to Namche Bazaar. Today, the walk is strenuous, but the beautiful scenes, and pristine air makes you keep going. On the way you will stop multiple times to soak in some stunning views. You will pass Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site as you reach Monjo. The national park is full of endangered flora and faunas.
On the way to today guest house you will pass some attractive Sherpa villages, Monjo, and Jorsale. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to Everest and it is a Sherpa town where you can do your last-minute shopping. Namche Bazaar is a market where various shops, cafeterias, cyber café, hotels, and guest houses can be found which invites tourists traveling to the Everest Region of Nepal.
Tonight, you will spend your night at a local teahouse owned by a Sherpa family.
Today is a rest day to adapt your body in a new environment at Namche Bazaar. It is very important to make your body adopt a new environment because in the days to come, you have to trek to high altitudes with thin air.
You will hike to Everest View Hotel, following the panoramic views of the highest mountains. Hotel Everest view is the highest situated hotels in the world from where you will have a clearer views of the Himalayas. You can enjoy the spectacular views of the majestic mountains, Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many more. And then we return back to Namche as it’s an acclimatization day, so we won’t be gaining altitudes.
At Namche you will visit the Everest Photo Gallery, Museum, and many more. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche.
Today we follow a trail to Tengboche. The route we walk today is the most scenic hiking route in the entire Everest Base Camp Trek. At first, we descend to Dudh Koshi valley at Phungi Thanka and make our way uphill to Tengboche at a slow pace. In the trial you will be surrounded by some of the majestic mountain like Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse, and Mt. Everest. Next you will pass the Imja Khola to reach the Tengboche, the spiritual center of the Khumbu region.
At Tengboche, you visit the Tengboche monastery, an old monastery at a high altitude that offers incredible views of the Everest locale. Make sure you see the amazing Murals and Statuary of the monastery.
Further, one can see the Mt. Ama Dablam just above the monastery. Tonight, you will spend a night at Tengboche at a locally operated guest house.
After breakfast, we will head towards EBC trek journey with an amazing ascent. The trial offered a beautiful views of gigantic mountains.
Before leaving, get out of your bed early to catch the lifetime experience of sunrise over Ama Dablam Mountain. It will be an awful moment to cherish throughout life.
After you enjoy the sunrise moment, you will descend the Imja River and follow a trail to a high altitude Sherpa village of Dingboche. You will follow a scenic path full of mountain views and picturesque landscapes. The village is at a dramatic location with appealing pictures of mountains in the backdrop. We keep on walking to the hamlets of Dingboche. Prayer flags, prayer wheels, mani walls, agriculture fields, and settlements of yak herders guard the trials to Dingboche.
After you reach Dingboche at an altitude of 4,410 m, you may feel the effects of thin air at a high altitude. At this situation, you should calm down and drink plenty of liquids. You should keep yourself hydrated all the time. Here, the guide will check your oxygen level with an oximeter to monitor if you are fit to trek. Otherwise, the guide will provide you some medications to prevent the altitude sickness. You should have a firm determination and a positive mindset to trek to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest. Tonight, spend your time at a local guest house.
Today is another day for acclimatization. We need to acclimatize to ensure our health and safety, as we keep passing the high altitudes. Today, prepare yourself for the stimulating hike to Everest Base Camp.
After breakfast, you will hike to nearby Nagerjun hill to catch some panoramic views of the mountains around. The Nagerjun hill is a beautiful viewpoint in the Everest locale located at an altitude of 5100 m. From the viewpoint you can observe some fantastic views of lofty peaks i.e. Thamserku, Taboche, Kangtega, Lobuche, Mt. Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Cholatse, and many other in the range. After some refreshing moments spend on the hill, we get down exploring the settlements in Dingboche. Tonight, you will rest at guest house.
You are making your way closer to Everest Base Camp, with every passing day. You should maintain a slow pace while taking elevations and communicate everything you feel with your guide.
After breakfast, you will trek to Lobuche at an elevation of 4910m. Until you get to Dughla, you will follow a trail between wide valleys. After passing some yak pastures, you will reach Lobuche. Now you are trekking above the tree line, the trials become bare and filled with snow. You can’t find any permanent Sherpa settlement over here in Lobuche. Just beside tea house, you will be surrounded by striking views of high mountains.
Enjoy the views and get rest at tea house. Tomorrow, you will head towards Everest Base Camp, the base camp of the world’s highest mountains.
After an early breakfast, we head to Gorakshep which is at an altitude of 5,181 m. The place is barely populated with few guest houses that operate during trekking seasons. After you reach Gorakshep, the guide will take you to a guest house where you can leave your heavy gear. From Gorakshep you will make your way to Everest Base Camp. It’s a moment of pride for everyone because it’s been a week since you have been waiting for the day.
You will trek through the world’s highest glacier “Khumbu Glacier” at a height of 4900 m which is 12 km long. You will walk through the ice formations and small pools of water. You should be a careful as you may hurt your foot in scree and moraine in joy. Soon, you reach the final destination of the trek, i.e. Everest Base Camp.
When you are at the Everest Base Camp, you will explore the area and witness the glory of the highest peaks rise just before you. You can capture the wonderful moment in a photos and you can celebrate the moments with your teammates and guides. You are now at the base camp of the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest but you cannot see Mt. Everest from the base camp as it hides between Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse. After we collect memories, we will return back to Gorakshep.
Tonight, spend a cozy warm sleep at a local guest house.
Today, you will witness the nearest view of Mt. Everest through the naked eye. So, wake up early before the sun rise and head towards Kalapatthar at 5545 m. which is the highest point of your trekking journey. Soon you will reach the highest view point, as the sun peeks through the highest mountain, you will forget all the distresses.
From Kalapatthar, you will catch the golden rays of sun fall over Mt. Everest’s glittering snow. Bless yourself on the feet of the majestic mountains on the earth. You can capture the moment in photos and videos to show it to the world. Next, you will return back to Gorakshep. After breakfast, start trekking downhill to Pheriche.
Pheriche is crowded with small settlement where you can find a clinic run by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA). In Pheriche, you can enjoy the nearby views. Tonight, take rest at guest house after your dinner.
Today we head back to the Sherpa town to Namche. The route is long and the mountain views don’t end yet. So, you can stop at intervals to catch some more views of the Khumbu region. We descend slowly from the communities like Orsho, Pngboche, and Tengboche to Namche. After reaching Namche, you can take rest and end your day. Tonight, spend a warm night at a guesthouse.
You will descend to Lukla from Namche with the impressive mountain views. We descend along Jorsale, Monjo, and Phakding to Lukla. The route is full of lush forests and amazing mountainous terrain. You can take the last-minute views of the gigantic mountains and enjoy the last minutes of your Everest trekking.
Tonight, you can celebrate the success of your EBC trek with all your crews and teammates. Sing and dance along with the porters and guides with boundless local brew rounds. You may also offer tips to your porter and guides as an encouragement before the night. You will meet most of the porters for the last time in Lukla. Tonight, have some good sleep recalling the Everest memories.
Enjoy the sights and bid farewell to the mountains and the hills. You will fly again with a sight of the highest mountains, after you board in flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. You will recognize most of the mountain through your window.
After you land in TIA, your guide will transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the day around streets of Thamel. Enjoy the food of your choice, as you may not find all the dishes in the mountains throughout your EBC journey.
