Tamang Randonnees Treks presents an adventure around both scenic and cultural areas of the Langtang Himal Range. Where walk leads from the Rasuwa district to the Helambu region then ending the trek at Kathmandu valley's eastern rim. An interesting and exciting journey visiting the scenic Langtang valley and towards Gosainkund, revered as the holiest of all holy sites. Where thousands of Hindu pilgrims and Buddhist followers visit the holy Gosainkund on an auspicious time of the full moon. As per the Hindu Lunar calendar where the religious festival is held at the sacred Gosainkund glacial pond.

An adventure around the Central Himalayas range, walking on scenic high ridges facing the grand vista of Langtang, Ganesh, and Manaslu. As far toward Annapurna Himalayas on the west horizon with Jugal Himal in the east direction. A marvelous adventure to enjoy of little less than two weeks trekking following a scenic forested path. Then reaching arid and barren terrain at Gosiankund and then into a beautiful forest, walking through lovely traditional farm villages. As a walk follows on the high ridges of mid-hills to the Helambu areas at Kutumsang.

Heading towards the lovely village of Gul Bhanjyang, reaching Chisapani a scenic flat green hill above the eastern rim of Kathmandu valley. From Chisapani enjoy stunning views of sunrise and sunsets over a chain of Himalayan peaks before reaching back to Kathmandu. Langtang Valley & Gosainkund Trekking, an adventure visiting both scenic and cultural areas of Langtang Himal range. Begins with a drive from Kathmandu to higher cooler hills around Rasuwa district at Dhunche town and the at Syabrubesi village.

Starting the walk towards higher hills covered in serene lovely forest and then entering at magnificent Langtang Valley in Kyanjin. Kyanjin is a moderate settlement within picturesque scenery of a giant snow-capped mountain
range that encircles the Langtang Valley. After an enjoyable time at Kyanjin and Langtang Valley walk leads to an alternative route towards the high Gosainkund holy pond. An exciting holy place surrounded by high rocky cliffs and snow peaks, from Gosainkund adventure leads to a steep climb. Reaching on top of Gosainkund and Eastern Laurabinaya-La Pass, the highest point of the adventure, overlooking a grand vista of surrounding scenery.

The walk continues to the eastern sides of Langtang Himal following the forested path to lovely hill villages. Most villages are inhabited by the Tamang hill tribes here the villages are adorned with religious monuments. Finally, our journey slowly comes to an end reaching a higher scenic ridge at Chisapani, then ending the walk. On reaching the small town of Sundarijal, where our marvelous walks ends, then taking a short drive to Kathmandu. After a glorious time and adventure on Langtang Valley & Gosainkund Trekking.

Day 14: Trek to Sundarijal 1,380 m with an hour drive to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Depart for international departure

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    On first arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, our staff and guide receives you with traditional welcome. A short drive to your hotel, situated on the main part of the city, and then check into your rooms. After getting refresh join with other members of the group for trek briefing, our Tamang Randomness Treks guide. Will provide necessary information regarding the trek, culture with do’s and don’ts making your holiday in Nepal enjoyable.

    Evening a group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurants with folk cultural programs, an introduction to Nepalese meals and culture.

  • Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.

    Morning after an early breakfast, and then depart for Langtang Valley trekking towards Nepal Central Himalayas around district of Rasuwa. An interesting overland journey of 5-6 hours. Drive follows on winding uphill through many farm villages and towns, reaching Dhunche town headquarters of the district. As well the entry point of Langtang National Park, from here drive downhill to Syabrubesi for overnight stop.

  • Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350 m - 06 hrs.

    The morning starts from Syabrubesi a nice village of Tamang community one of the ancient hill tribes of Nepal. On leaving the lodge, a short easy walk to a bridge, and then climb towards farm areas past Riverside. A small place with few tea-shops, as walk continues entering a dense woodland with uphill walk. Then reaching a small clearing at Lama Hotel, located amidst forest surrounding close to Langtang River. Lama Hotel an isolated settlement with few simple lodges for trekkers with homely comfort.

    Altitude: 2,350 m
  • Day 04: Trek to Langtang village 3,310 m - 05 hrs.

    From Lama Hotel, located on a deep river gorge within dense forest. Morning starts following uphill path above the river through forest of pine, rhododendron, firs and hemlocks. As walk reaches Ghoretabela, a small place within a forest surrounding stopping here for lunch. Afternoon walk on forested path, the trail leads to cross few streams, after few hours of pleasant trek reaching Langtang village. An open area on leaving the dense woods, a large settlement with several good lodges for overnight stop.

    Langtang village was destroyed during 2015 huge earthquake, with many villagers life was lost as well of some trekkers. As you can notice a memorable built with stones, with names of people who lost their life. The village is slowly returning back to normal life as it were before the earthquake.

    Altitude: 3,310 m
  • Day 05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,860 m - 04 hrs.

    A short day walk to Kyanjin Gompa, our final destination and highlight of the adventure. Morning walk leads to a small climb reaching a high ridge, as gorge opens up into a wide scenic valley. The trail follows further east facing views of distant snow peaks, then ending the morning walk at Kyanjin. A lovely scenic settlement with many nice lodges and guest houses, situated in the heart of Langtang valley. Afternoon having lunch, enjoy the day exploring the areas and marveling the beautiful views of towering peaks.

    Altitude: 3,860 m
  • Day 06: Rest-Day for acclimatization and hike to view points.

    At Kyanjin for another day, a perfect an ideal location for rest and acclimatization before heading towards higher to Gosainkund. Morning having good breakfast take a hike to Kyanjin-Ri at 4, 773 m / 15, 655 feet, or much higher. A steep climb to Tserko-Ri ridge at 4, 983 m and 16,348 feet, both high ridges offers breathtaking panorama. Includes views of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II, at 6,571 m), Langtang Lirung (7,425 m) with Kim Shun (6,745 m). Extends towards  Shalbachum (6,918 m) with Naya-Kanga 5,846 / Ganjala Himal with Gangchenpo and Tillman’s beautiful Fluted Peak.

    Towards east views of Jugal Himal range with Dorje Lakpa 6,966 m, and some peaks of Tibetan side. Rest of the day enjoy relaxing facing grand views of surrounding peaks.

  • Day 07: Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.

    From Kyanjin on return journey after a glorious moment around Langtang Valley, a long day walk. Heading down hill and back into forest past Langtang village and Ghoretabela, then reaching Lama Hotel for overnight stop.

  • Day 08: Trek to Upper / Thulo Syabru village 2,118 m - 06 hours walk.

    After a pleasant overnight at Lama Hotel, morning walk starts after few hour of good walks our route diverts. Adventure leads towards our next destination to Gosiankund higher terrain, as walk follows through a small place of Bamboo. From here climb starts for an hour or more and then ending the day reaching Upper or Thulo Syabru village. Stands on a high ridge, an interesting Tamang village to explore and witness the local culture of age-old Buddhism heritage.

  • Day 09: Trek to Sing Gompa / Chandanbari 3,254 m - 05 hrs.

    On leaving Thulo Syabru village, walk past the monastery heading uphill on steep forested path to a high ridge. From here on pleasant wide trail lined by tall pine and rhododendron trees then reaching overnight stop at Sing Gompa. A small and neat looking village also called as Chandanbari, means a place for sandal wood. After getting organized in a nice lodge, visit the Monastery, perched atop from the village.

    Altitude: 3,254 m
  • Day 10: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m / 14,375 feet - 05 hrs.

    Today’s walk towards our next final destination to Gosainkund, enjoy the morning walk with short steep climb. Facing grand panorama of Langtang, Ganesh and Manaslu Himalayas as far as towards Annapurna Himalaya range. A pleasant walk into dense woodland, then leaving the forest behind, climb leads to the top of Laurabinaya high hill. A short downhill coming across Bhairab and Saraswati Kund / ponds with short climb to Gosainkund. At Gosainkund overnight in a simple lodge above the holy glacial pond of Gosainkund. Enjoy the afternoon exploring around the large pond, almost a size of a lake with a shrine of Lord Shiva. A Hindu God, as this area regarded as holy site for all Hindus as well for some Buddhist religion.

  • Day 11: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566 m via Gosainkund / Laurabina-La 4,609 m /15,100 ft.

    From Gosainkund, morning walk across the holy pond, and then climb towards a high ridge and a pass. On reaching the top of Gosiankund and East Laurabina-La, facing tremendous views of surrounding scenery. A long descent to the base of the pass at Phedi a place with few small shops and tea-house. After a refreshing rest carry on trekking heading back into forest, then reaching our overnight stop at Ghopte Odar. A small place with simple huts serving as lodge, the word Ghopte Odar means an overhanging cave.

    Altitude: 4,609 m
  • Day 12: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445 m - 06 hrs.

    After Ghopte Odar, walk for few hours into a forest then coming to an open area. Where climb leads to a high ridge at Thade Patti for possible lunch stop, a small settlement. Having several simple tea-house and shades, which is on route to Helambu region. After a nice rest facing wonderful views of snow peaks, continue walk downhill into a lovely pines and rhododendron forest. Then ending the day walk reaching Kutumsang for overnight stop in the comfort of a nice simple lodge.

  • Day 13: Trek to Chisapani 2,195 m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125 m - 06 hrs.

    Leaving Kutumsang, walk leads on a high ridge with few ups and down to another lovely village of Gul Bhanjyang. From here downhill to Pati Bhanjyang, a nice small farm village and then short climb to Chisapani. A scenic spot with number of nice lodge and guest house, located atop north east of Kathmandu valley. From Chisapani enjoy sunset view over array of snow peaks of Langtang and Jugal Himal towards north. Includes Ganesh and Manaslu Himalayas in the west, at Chisapani enjoy the last overnight on the hills of Himalayas.

  • Day 14: Trek to Sundarijal 1,380 m with an hour drive to Kathmandu.

    Last day walk of the adventure, early morning enjoy the stunning sunrise views, having breakfast on downhill trail. Walk into forested path to Burlang Bhanjyang a nice farm village of Tamang community. From here downhill continues to lovely spot of Sundarijal, a place with fresh running streams and waterfalls. Walk leads in a nice forest surrounding and descent to a farm town of Sundarijal. Our trek finally ends taking a short drive to inner city of Kathmandu and then back to your hotel. Rest of the day enjoy the afternoon at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

  • Day 15: Depart for international departure.

    Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as time for your international flight our staff and guide transfer you to the airport. For international flight homeward bound. After a great amazing adventure of wonderful experience around Langtang Valley & Gosainkund Trekking.

  • 01: Is Langtang Valley & Gosainkund Trek tough and hard?

    The only tough part of the whole adventure is walking uphill for few hours. But taking at slow pace with enough short rest will make the trek much easier and enjoyable.
  • 02: Are there electricity power to charge our electronic gadgets and items?

    No worries, there are electricity power to charge our electronic gadgets in every lodges on route trekking. From Syabrubesi onwards some villages and settlements have solar for electricity power with facilities for charging items, on paying a small fee for each items as per hour.
  • 03: What do expect on this trek?

    Nepal and the Himalayas, 80% of the country of hills and valleys including the world’s highest peaks. Where walk leads to steep climb and downhill, as well enjoying wonderful views of snow-capped peaks. The charm of this trek is walking into beautiful cool rhododendron forest and around villages of lively and impressive Buddhist culture of Tamang native.
  • 04: How are the food and accommodation on treks?

    From Syabrubesi onwards staying in local mountain lodges and guest house. Where most good lodges have rooms with common or attached bathe and toilets running hot and cold water for showers. A neat and clean rooms, however carrying your sleeping bags adds extra comfort. The food are served in a nice large dining rooms with a fire place to keep the dining warm and cozy. Nearly all lodges on treks serves comprehensive food menu to choose from Continental, Chinese, Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan. As well some places serves Korean, Japanese and Mexican food also, some restaurants with fresh bakery product also. But on route to Thulo Syabru and Gosainkund as well at Ghopte Odar, overnights in simple lodge with basic facilities. Rest of the places staying in nice lodges having good food menu till Chisapani before Kathmandu.
