Mardi Himal View Point Trekking, an exciting and thrilling adventure with Tamang Randomness Treks, leads you off the main trails. Heading higher towards an exposed and magnificent ridge of Mardi Himal, beneath the towering Southern Face of Machhapuchare Himal.

The famous Fish-Tail peak dominates the skyline of the massive Annapurna Himalaya range and the scenic valley of Pokhara. Mardi Himal is a lesser trekking peak at 5,587 m and 18,330 feet high that few adventurers often dare to climb. Located right beneath the southern flanks of majestic Machhapuchare Himal, the area around Mardi Himal is also called the ‘Other Sanctuary’.

Due to its scenic views and close to the actual Annapurna Sanctuary separated by a big drop and Modi River. The adventure of a week duration takes you high above 4,500 m at Mardi View Point, the main highlight destination. Mardi Himal View Point Trekking starts and ends at scenic Pokhara city close to its famed Phewa Lake. A short exciting drive to the foothills of Annapurna Himalayas, and then the adventure begins climbing towards higher hills.

Walking within a cool shade of dense rhododendron and pine forest on leaving the villages and human settlements. Then reaching higher terrain, where tree lines drop for sheer Mountain Wilderness enclosed by an array of giant snow peaks. Truly a great adventure in the least ventured areas away from the main flow of trekkers and off the beaten tracks. Enjoy the marvelous scenery of rolling green hills and valleys in the close shade of massif Annapurna Himalayas.

On achieving the goal and highlight of the adventure, return journey downhill on an alternative route. As the walk leads back to low warm farmland and then a short drive to Pokhara. In the beautiful city of Pokhara, our wonderful adventure of Mardi Himal View Point Trekking completes before heading to Kathmandu. After a memorable time and experience around the high hills of Annapurna Himalayas, a perfect adventure of a week duration.

Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Fly or drive to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel -06 hrs.
Day 03: Drive to Kande village 1,430 m and walk to Potana 1,900 m – 05 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520 m via Deurali 2,100 m-05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Low Camp 2,970 m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to High Camp 3,700 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal View Point at 4,500 m.
Day 08: Trek to Low Camp- 04 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Siding village 1,750 m-06 hrs.
Day 10:  Trek to road-head and drive to Pokhara 860 m- 02 hrs.
Day 11: Drive or fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 12: Depart for international departure

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    On first arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, our staff and guide receives you with traditional welcome. A short drive to your hotel, situated on the main part of the city, and then check into your rooms. After getting refresh join with other members of the group for trek briefing, our Tamang Randomness Treks guide. Will provide necessary information regarding the trek, culture with do’s and don’ts making your holiday in Nepal enjoyable. Evening a group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurants with folk cultural programs, an introduction to Nepalese meals and culture.

  • Day 02: Fly or drive to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel -06 hrs.

    Morning after an early breakfast, and then depart for Pokhara towards Nepal Mid-West, an interesting overland journey off 5-6 hours. As drive follows on main Nepal busy highway through many farm villages and towns, then reaching Pokhara. The hotel in Pokhara situated close to the beautiful Phewa Lake. (Options for short flight of 30 minutes to Pokhara from Kathmandu)

  • Day 03: Drive to Kande village 1,430 m and walk to Potana 1,900 m - 05 hrs.

    Enjoy morning views of Annapurna Himalaya peaks, having breakfast getting ready for a short drive to starting point of trek. Walk starts following uphill trail through farm villages then reaching at Potana village for overnight stop. After walking through Australian Camp to Potana from a road side village of Kande.

    Altitude: 1,430 m
  • Day 04: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520 m via Deurali 2,100 m-05 hrs.

    Morning enjoy views of Machhapuchare Himal with adjoining Annapurna Peaks, after breakfast, start walking leaving Potana village. Heading up into a forested path to Deurali, a place with few tea-shops and small lodges.

    Deurali offers grand views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks, as walk continues leaving the main trail. Heading on off the beaten tracks into a dense forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines trees. After few hours of gradual up reaching at Kokar, also called Forest Camp, a temporary settlement with simple nice lodges.

    Altitude: 2,520 m
  • Day 05: Trek to Low Camp 2,970 m - 05 hrs.

    After a pleasant overnight, morning begins with climb within forest, as walk progress reaching a small settlement at Low Camp. A nice isolated place with few good lodges for overnight stops, the area also called as Badal Camp. Due heavy mist that hangs around this lovely spot amidst forest surrounding.

    Altitude: 2,970 m
  • Day 06: Trek to High Camp 3,700 m - 05 hrs.

    Today’s walk reaching close towards our major destination, as morning walk follows to a steep up. Where tree lines slowly disappears to smaller bush of rhododendron and juniper, after hours of good climb reaching High Camp. A scenic and wide open place facing grand views of rolling green hills and snow peaks.

    Altitude: 3,700 m
  • Day 07: At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal View Point at 4,500 m.

    From High Camp, start early for a long day hike to the main highlight of the adventure. Start the walk with slow and steady climb, then reaching a lovely open plateau at Mardi Himal View Point. The best place for stunning panorama of surrounding giant peaks of Annapurna Himalayas with majestic Machhapuchare and Mardi Himal.

    Enjoy the breathtaking views from the highest point of the adventure, and then head back to High Camp for overnight halt.

    Altitude: 4,500 m.
  • Day 08: Trek to Low Camp- 04 hrs.

    An easy downhill back into dense tall tree lines and lush vegetation, on leaving the High Camp. Walk continues downhill then reaching Low Camp for last overnight camp around high hills of Mardi Himal.

  • Day 09: Trek to Siding village 1,750 m-06 hrs.

    Morning leaving the Mardi Himal high area, last day walk heads to a long undulating downhill. As trail leads on an alternative route back reaching low warm farm village at Siding for an overnight stop.

    Altitude: 1,750 m
  • Day 10:  From Siding drive to Pokhara 860 m- 02 hrs.

    Our last day around the foothills of Annapurna and Mardi Himal, having breakfast walk to Bus stand. From here taking a local vehicle for few hour drives back to Pokhara for overnight stop, after a wonderful experience on Mardi Himal View Point Trekking.

    Altitude: 860 m
  • Day 11: Drive or fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    Morning depart from the hotel in Pokhara for drive to Kathmandu, reaching by late afternoon and back to your hotel. Rest of the afternoon free at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

    (Options for flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara of half hour scenic flight)

  • Day 12: Depart for international departure.

    Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as time for your international flight our staff and guide transfer you to the airport. For your international flight homeward bound, after a great wonderful experience on Mardi Himal View Point Trekking.

  • 01: Is Mardi Himal View Point Trek tough and hard?

    The only tough part of the whole adventure is walking uphill for few hours. But taking at slow pace with enough short rest will make the trek much easier and enjoyable.
  • 02: Are there electricity power to charge our electronic gadgets and items?

    No worries, there are electricity power to charge electronic gadgets in every lodges on route trekking. Using the facilities paying a small fee for each items as per hour. Most areas on route to High Camp have solar power to run electricity for the night, as well for charging electronic gadgets if required.
  • 03: What do expect on this trek?

    Nepal and the Himalayas, 80% of the country of hills and valleys including the world’s highest peaks. Where walk leads to steep climb and downhill, as well enjoying wonderful views of snow-capped peaks. The charm of this trek is walking into beautiful cool rhododendron forest and around villages of lively and impressive cultures.
  • 04: How are the food and accommodation on treks?

    From Pokhara onwards staying in local mountain lodges and guest house. Where most good lodges have rooms with common or attached bathe and toilets running hot and cold water for showers. A neat and clean rooms, however carrying your sleeping bags adds extra comfort. The food are served in a nice large dining rooms with a fire place to keep the dining warm and cozy. Nearly all lodges on treks serves comprehensive food menu to choose from Continental, Chinese, Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan.
